Unfortunately, the Natrona County Assessor, Tammy Saulsbury, is scared to stand up to corporate interests, and it is costing residents hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue.
YOU have to pay property tax, even if you are poor, your spouse died, you lost your job, you got cancer.
The only elected officials who seem to be defending this are Casper Vice-Mayor, Michael McIntosh, and Casper City Council coward, Kyle Gamroth, who is also on the the Casper Housing Authority Board. Kyle repeatedly defends the particulars of these projects, which include MILLION DOLLAR development fees, secret and misleading property tax exemptions, and other policies, which enrich private out-of-state developers on Facebook. Then he appears to untag himself from the replies!
Check out Vice-Mayor McIntosh’s reply. This has never gone to court, YET, Mr. McIntosh! So YOU do not know what you are talking about! And when you tell private citizens they are too stupid to understand a policy, and they need to move on, it has the opposite effect you have intended!

Although I have identified other buildings that INACCURATELY receive a property tax exemption, which costs the residents of Natrona County hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, this email will address the Raven Crest Apartments in Casper. They have 100 apartments on 7 acres, and they generate MILLIONS in income.
Assessor Saulsbury said she “looked at the deed” and determined that they do not have to pay. Now how is this possible?
Here is the deed:

“Raven Crest Apartments LLC” owns Raven Crest Apartments. Well, who is that?

USA Instituational Raven Crest, LLC, owns the land and generates millions in revenue. They make WAYYYY more money than you do!
BUT WHY AREN’T THEY PAYING PROPERTY TAX?
THEY SHOULD BE PAYING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, but the Assessor is too weak or ignorant to stand up to the Casper Housing Authority and corporate interests.
Earlier in the year, as a result of what I have exposed, Ms Saulsbury said she would be pulling these exemptions.
WHY DID SHE GET SCARED?
IT MIGHT BE TIME TO FIND AN ASSESSOR WHO IS WILLING TO DO THE JOB!
If you do not believe me, listen to the developer himself, Christian Pritchett of BlueLine Development, tell Representative Jayme Lien who owns the Raven Crest Apartments.
I AM WILLING TO FILE SUIT TO STOP THIS CORPORATE GIVEAWAY!
In case you missed it, here is a Town Hall I did on this subject:
